Hi all,

I just got back from a 5 days trip to Snowdonia, Wales area. To be specific, I was in Dolgellau. Dolgellau is within the Snowdonia National Park area. The mountains, hills, lakes, quarry, forests, many many more are totally breath-taking. The pictures/photos that I will upload later, you will see what i meant. Totally speechless kind.

Anyway, I was there for 5 days for a Thesis development research. We went as a group, 9 of us. 3 girls and 6 guys. 3 guys drove us all up to Dolgellau. On the way there, it took about 4 hours. The ride there, was good. The scenery on the way .... Wooooah! totally beautiful. The forests shows the story of weather. The change of colours from the trees. The same area, a few different kind of trees, a few different kind of colours.

Anyway, during the trip. Monday, We did some researched on the town, Dolgellau. Through our tutor, W. We met the conservation planners of the area and he brought us around explaining the brief history of the town, the area of the conservation site. Monday night, we had beers and indian with the W. Tuesday, one of the grp mate proposed to climb a mountain...I was all excited, all gear up.. but when i reach there, 1/3 through the climb up. I decided to chicken out due to health reason.... BUT all was not loss, I did some sketches and admire the scenery around me. Later, we went for a tea at a nearby bed n breakfast. Then, we headed home (hostel) for a rest. That night, one of the guy cook and we had a delicious dinner and after that was more beer n wine. Wednesday, a group of 5 of us went to explore the nearby town. We went to an unuse slate quarry. It was quite a walk up but once we reach the middle of it. It was totally stunning. In the quarry site, there is a lake. Surrounded by hills and hills of slates and also, ruins of the buildings that the people that used to stay there long long long time ago.... Spooky area BUT definately a LOOKER! THEN, after that we went to David Nash's gallery. earlier on, we had called him and his wife said that we are welcome to drop by. I cant believe that we are heading to David Nash's gallery. David Nash is a sculptor. He specialised in Wood sculpture. When we reach the outside of the gallery, we were half expecting that someone who worked there will bring us around. Instead, David Nash came and brought us around to explain to us about how his sculptures are done and where he get his wood, his ideas... blab blab blab.... etc. Anyway, it was good timing we were there with 3 guys. Cos, he just bought a new boiler so he need some labour work. wahahhahaa... poor guys end up have to help his move out his old boiler and move in his new one. After that, he offered us tea and we have a chat before he brought us to his workshop where he work n dry his wood. It was really a good trip. No regrets!

Anyway, Thursday came and it was our time to leave the small town. Before we left North wales, we went to a gold n copper mine, a quarry which provide the stones for nearly all the building in Dolgellau. Also, we went to Barmouth, a seaside town at the north side. then it was the trip back to Cardiff. Ahhhh.. the trip back was fun.... we were trying to chase up the other guy's car who had left 15mins earlier than our car and the risk of running low on petrol... ahahhahaa... All funny and All worrying because we were worried of being stranded on the carriageway in the valleys... ahahhaa..... BUT all worries were gone when we see a petrol kiosk! ahahahhaa...

Now, Im back in Cardiff and back in my comfy room. So tired. Nearly every nite of beers n wine.... ahhhhahahaha.. Im not much of a drinker in UK... unless, Im back in Singapore with my clubbing friends (Grin).... but it was all good! And NO... I did not get drunk... NOT tat lousy anyway...... Ay, I cant be that bad rite? hehehehee...

OKay, back to reality. I have tons of things to catch up for my dissertation and will be meeting my thesis tutor on monday or tuesday... so have to get my research done! ARrgGGGhhhh! Thesis and Dissertation SHOULD NEVER be mix together at the
same time..... Ahhh...!!! More time needed!

Today, I shall take a rest and tmr, Friday ... I shall start my engine and continue with my everlasting workload. Ahhh sianz. Saturday, I have to go to Wells to do research n sketches for my dissertation. Let's hope all things goes well.

Till then,
I miss my family n friends in Singapore... Cant wait for Xmas break to come!

Love ,
Krissy
