Lately, Bloggers have been blogging alot on the Edison Chen, Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan, Cecillia scandal.... But, I decided that... I have enough of those images flashing in my head... Ewww... watever it is... Girls, 1 advice..... Epilate, shave, wax, IPL... watever... keep it tidy... PERIOD.

Anyway, I decided to defend my own country instead. Recently, I came to know that there have been a online on-going war between the Taiwanese and the Singaporeans. Amazingly, its not about whos manderine are better but rather more on..... the Taiwanese critising the Singaporean's English. Hmmmm... I wondered... WHO are They who think they can critising us. No offence, I have Taiwanese friends before and have been to Taiwan before. I think they are nice people BUT like in every country,you will still get the 'bad worms' in them BUT anyway, my perception on Taiwanese people are okie... Attitude wise.... BUT, seriously to the extend on critising our English ?? Hmmmm.... Really? Do we have to go into that ???

Singapore is a country bound together by the 4 major races: the Chinese, the Malyas, Indians and Euransian. Our languages are a mixtures of all the major languages and dialects that mix together to create our own 'slang' and Singlish. When I first arrived in UK, I have classsmates that actually asked me if Singlish is the national Language in singapore. Allloz.... Every country has their own 'slang'. The cantonese with their Lahs and lohs at the back fo their cantonese... Who the F.. said that only Singlish has Lahs and lors with it. The English with their : 'init.... mate, mingy, cheers'... etc. The Americans with their 'dude , yeh, yoz , bro '... watever.... Our pronuciation maybe different but so what ? At times, we do have to guess what other people are saying. The English from the south may have problem understanding those from the North. And ... guess what ? They are from Great Britain... the same country.

My point is.... Why are those so call celebrities laughing at our English standard. We are 'forced' to include English in our everyday life. Most of us in Singapore can speak and understand English. Though not good or perfect BUT we made an effort to learn to speak and understand it so that we can have the ability to communicate with other people that dont speak Mandarine. Its the effort that counts. We have elderly that understand English and speak abit on it. In my case, my parents cant speak brilliant English but effort were put in to learn and understand the language. I poked fun at my dad and mom when they make mistake at the proniciation. I correct them and helped them with the meaning when they dont know what it means. Everytime they know a new word, they rememeber it and try to memories it so that when the word comes up again, they will hopefully remember.... whhahahaa... But... A+ for effort ... arent it ? In Taiwan, Its a lot bigger country then Singapore... How many people in Taiwan can actually speak good english? How many students there can actually communicate properly in Proper english.? hur hur ?

Look ...from Primary school to Secondary school, Im from a 'Chinese' school. We mainly speak mandarin with the occassion mixture of dialect in School. And when im in UK. People were shocked with my English standard. I was told by a Greek that he was surprised that my English speaking langage is quite good. A. always told me that my english arent as bad as I have thought i was. I admit, my english grammer and spelling can be HORRIBLE at times But theres nothing wrong with my ability of letting people know what I am trying to say.

End of the day, as long as people can sort of 'grab' what you're trying to say... why should we really care how they pronouce it ? We should always bear in mind that we, HUMANS are not perfect so theres nothing wrong with having wonky pronouciation.

Anyway, im bored with it already... thats all for today.... yawnz.
